May 4 - Lambs Canyon

Mostly sunny day with temps near 80 in the valley.

Heading up to Lambs Canyon for a butterfly check. It's in the low 60s when I arrive before noon.

See a small orange flyer next the start but couldn't track. I don't think it was a Comma, I'm thinking perhaps Mylitta Crescent.

The road is now clear - few patches of snow off the road though.

Painted Ladies are still flying. And hey, progression is happening as I find my first Rocky Mountain Duskwing of the year!

I'm also seeing a few Blues but they are just flying down canyon.

I also see a Mourning Cloak and hey, male Orangetip!!

Around the trail head, I find Hoary Comma

Green Comma and my first Yellow Sulpher of the year - it looked so small.

and Spring Azure.

Lots more people walking/running the road now.

Trail is still snowy at the start. If I had my yaktrak with me, I'd give a go but until another day.

Awesome day!
