June 4 - Lambs Canyon Trail

Sunny day with temps near 80. Perfect day for an after work hike (before the heat wave strikes). Heading to Lambs Canyon to hike the trail as the road is now open!!!

Only heading to the meadow as AllTrails reports snow the last 1/2 mile or so.

So nice to drive that windy canyon road again! Only one car parked when I arrived around 3:45.

It's beautiful out with temps in the low 70s and a light wind!

I check the mud puddles and only see a couple of duskywings flying. Definitely disappointing. :(

Time to head up the trail for the 2nd time this year.

The Heart-leafed Arnica blooms are increasing. There's also Virginia Bowers, Bluebells, Geraniums, Blue Violet, Virginia Waterleaf and many other. The Thimbleberry are about a foot out of the ground  But still a long way to go.

Hoping to see some butterflies in the muddy spots but only see a couple Blues flying.

The snow that was on the southern slopes is now gone and the creek is still flowing strong.

As I increase in elevation, I so love how open things are in the forest now.

At one point, I see a Hoary Comma.

Just before reaching the meadow, the trail gets muddy with some water flowing.

And the meadow's trail is a mud pit. Glad I'm stopping here!

Time to head down.

Good day!
